I make it a point to walk around my neighborhood almost everyday (weather permitting). I take my camera with me so that I can try to capture the zen I feel when hoofing around, but it never seems to do an adequate job when it comes to grabbing the whole scene. It doesn’t capture the cool bay air, the smells of food sizzling on a nearby grill, or the supernatural aura that only a dying sunset can give as the day turns into twilight. But I must admit, it tries its best.
Due to work constraints, I haven’t been able to enjoy a sunset walk. Being as this is the weekend (and the rain had let up), I decided to go out on a photographic adventure. Venturing towards Straub park, I found that the city had replaced all of the incandescent tree lights with white LED ones. They give a much more precise light, which was something I had to capture.
Artsy, no? Oui, oui!
If I could ever say I had a “hangout”, then it would be The Hooker Tea Co. Take a great selection of teas (over 100 types, all of which I’ve had), free wifi, and friendly staff, and you’ve got the makings of a bona fide hangout. Starbucks? Whatever.
Notice the ultra-bitchin’ mustang tea set. Sweet.
The owner of the store, Sean Hooker, released a line of tea-infused chocolate truffles just recently. They’re hand-made from a local chocolatier who has an incredible talent as these chocolates transcend into the realm of jewels. Take a look for yourself:
So that’s my typical walk. Tea, lights, and chocolates. Until next time…
