I just recently got my hands on Morcheeba’s latest album, Dive Deep. So far, I’m a pretty big fan as it’s seen heavy rotation on my daily walks. Excellent array of vocalists, smooth beats, and groove-inspiring sounds. Listening to this album while walking down a tree-shaded sidewalk with a unfiltered blue sky above makes me feel like a major movie character walking away from the camera right before the final credits begin to scroll upscreen. I highly recommend this album for anyone looking for something to add to their personal soundtrack of life.

Speaking of which, the weather here has been absolutely fantastic. Everyday I go outside is another reason why I thoroughly enjoy living in Saint Petersburg. Time like this when I am in a position where I’m happy about all the things I’ve done to lead me up to that particular moment in life. Satisfying.

While on the moment of life experiences, I have just been told that I will be making a business expedition out west to California. I haven’t been given details, but it looks like I ship out to San Dimas (as in SAN DIMAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!) which is about 30 minutes out of LA. I’m going for training consultation for Magellan GPS, for a new project we’re getting at work. Never been out to California, so I’m looking forward to seeing what’s all the hub-bub is about.

Essentially, I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into a good ol’ In-N-Out burger. I’ve gone ahead and memorized the Hidden Menu and pretty much know what will be my first order, and it will have the term “Animal Style” somewhere in there. Mind you that this is me, hater of all things fast-food, lusting over chain burgers. Expect pictures. Lots of them.

Speaking of pictures, here’s a few for ocular consumption:

I make it a point to walk around my neighborhood almost everyday (weather permitting). I take my camera with me so that I can try to capture the zen I feel when hoofing around, but it never seems to do an adequate job when it comes to grabbing the whole scene. It doesn’t capture the cool bay air, the smells of food sizzling on a nearby grill, or the supernatural aura that only a dying sunset can give as the day turns into twilight. But I must admit, it tries its best.

Due to work constraints, I haven’t been able to enjoy a sunset walk. Being as this is the weekend (and the rain had let up), I decided to go out on a photographic adventure. Venturing towards Straub park, I found that the city had replaced all of the incandescent tree lights with white LED ones. They give a much more precise light, which was something I had to capture.

Artsy, no? Oui, oui!

If I could ever say I had a “hangout”, then it would be The Hooker Tea Co. Take a great selection of teas (over 100 types, all of which I’ve had), free wifi, and friendly staff, and you’ve got the makings of a bona fide hangout. Starbucks? Whatever.

Notice the ultra-bitchin’ mustang tea set. Sweet.

The owner of the store, Sean Hooker, released a line of tea-infused chocolate truffles just recently. They’re hand-made from a local chocolatier who has an incredible talent as these chocolates transcend into the realm of jewels. Take a look for yourself:

So that’s my typical walk. Tea, lights, and chocolates. Until next time…
